Nairobi, 30th May 2024-
County Executive Committee Member for Green Nairobi Mr. Ibrahim Auma received a team from the World Resource Institute (WRI) led by Dr. George Mwaniki who apprised him on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator’s forthcoming visit to Kenya next Month.
The visit will focus on environmental issues particularly environmental justice.
Mr. Auma highlighted areas of key interest for Nairobi City County amongst them; environmental justice, Air Quality, Climate Change, Clean Energy and Community engagement.
“The visit of the EPA Administrator is a significant opportunity for Nairobi to showcase its environmental accomplishments, share challenges, and explore avenues for further collaboration and support. By highlighting our achievements and areas of need, we can strengthen our partnership with the US and enhance our efforts towards a sustainable and resilient Nairobi.” Stated Mr. Auma.
Present was County Chief Officer for Water and Sanitation Mr. Oscar Omoke, Deputy Director Climate Change and Air Quality Monitoring Mr. Maurice Kavai, Mombasa County CECM, Water, Natural Resources and Climate Change Resilience Ms. Emily Achieng and Assistant Director Climate Change and Air Quality Monitoring Ms. Grace Ojiayo.
