Nairobi, 15th October 2024

Nairobi City County Executive for Business and Hustlers Opportunities, Dr. Anastasia Nyalita hosted a delegation from the Women Enterprise Fund (WEF) led by Collins Okoth, Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation, who have been keen to partner with Nairobi City County Government around the areas of socio-economic empowerment of women and girls in Nairobi.

“H.E. Governor Sakaja is very keen on collaborations and capacity building, mentorship, sensitization campaigns, financial access, and market linkages and infrastructure with like-minded organizations as aspired in his Manifesto which is currently being implemented by various sectors of the County government.” Said Dr. Nyalita, County Executive, Business and Hustlers Opportunities.

Dr.  Nyalita emphasized that the Women Enterprise Fund plays a huge role in supporting the county to achieve the intended socio-economic impact to women- led micro and Small Enterprises, within the county.

“Inherently, this will be an opportunity to provide capacity building on finance matters, mentorship, business skills, and affordable loans which will result in women in the county being able to run sustainable businesses and scale up as they grow. We have laid special emphasis on under 25-year-old mothers who still need mentorship and financial skills support. We are also keen on those who are vulnerable to Gender based violence abuse and depression. As a government we are keen on just and Inclusive society which is part of changing and touching lives. It is also our responsibility to turn lives around.”

Dr. Nyalita was accompanied by Julius Karina, Director Micro and Small Enterprises Development, Marianitah Wambui and Elizabeth Waithira, Office of the Governor, Collins Sikal, Assistant Director Micro and Small Enterprises and among others.
