Nairobi City County and World Vision Collaborate to Enhance Capacity in Gender-Based Violence Response and Support for Vulnerable Groups

Nairobi City County Gender and Inclusivity Sub sector in collaboration with World Vision (USAID Tumikia mtoto project) conducted a 3 day training for their technical officers with the aim of enhancing their capacity in executing the sector’s mandate.

The County is a key partner of the USAID Tumikia Mtoto project, and H.E the Governor’s commitment to inclusivity and empowerment extends beyond words to actions that create opportunities and open doors. Through these collaboration the USAID Tumikia Mtoto project, implemented by world vision have been able to support 53,000 orphans and vulnerable children and 42,000 adolescent girls and young women in Nairobi County.

We deeply appreciate the enduring support that world vision have extended to us throughout the years. Their unwavering commitment has played a pivotal role in driving positive change in our communities. I hope this training has equipped you with skills that enables you challenge societal norms and drive real and lasting changes on matters GBV.”
Gbvresponse 6Director for Gender Ms. Jane Gichure said, “Our partnership with world vision has allowed us to focus on empowering adolescent girls and young women through innovative interventions. These trainings are meant to equip our officers with the necessary tools that enables you to tackle GBV cases and as Nairobi County we are committed to working together with partners to amplify the voices of survivors and raise awareness about the pervasive issue of GBV.

The County officials underwent training on GBV response, shelter management, Case management at the shelter, County planning process and the Budget Cycle.
