MAMA LUCY KIBAKI HOSPITAL HOLDS 10TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

Nairobi City County Governor, H.E Ann Kananu affirms her commitment in ensuring Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital is fully equipped with latest lifesaving and life changing equipment and maintains high treatment standards through quality staff recruitment.

H.E the Governor made this remarks today in a speech read on her behalf by County Executive Committee Member for Health, Hitan Majevdia during the 10th Anniversary celebrations of Mama Lucy Hospital.

Said the Governor “Through the story of Mama Lucy, I see a story of medical care in Nairobi County that has evolved from a small hospital to a facility that has expanded to a modern and sophisticated health Centre that continues to offer quality healthcare, health services not only to people in the Eastern part of Nairobi County, but also to all Kenyans from all walks of life”.

H.E the Governor, Kananu mentioned that healthcare has become a global service sector in which service quality and organizational performance are critical factors.

Said the Governor “Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital continues to deliver quality health services as exhibited by the staff and equipment, all this is aimed at meeting and exceeding patient’s expectations”.

The Hospital not only has a state of the art Laboratory but also a state of the Art radiology equipment; which has reduced MRI costs thanks to a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) facility commissioned a few months ago as part of the hospital’s plan to improve healthcare and service delivery; well-equipped operating theatre, A Kes500 million oxygen plant, a new maternity wing which consists of general wards, an Intensive Care Unit and a High Dependency Unit. The 66-bed capacity maternity wing was constructed at a cost of Sh1.1 billion and reliable emergency ambulance services.

Present during the function was Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) Lieutenant General, Mohamed Badi, Director Health Services, Dr. Ouma Oluga, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Emma Mutio, Mama Lucy Hospital partners among others.
