Kenya International Theatre Festival KITFest Kicks off.

County Executive Committee Member in charge of Inclusivity, Public participation and Customer Service Ms. Rosemary Kariuki today led the City Culture, Arts and Tourism sub-sector in flagging off the ninth edition of the Kenya International Theatre Festival (KITFest), which provides a platform for Creatives to showcase their outstanding performances and productions, while promoting diverse cultural practices and inclusion girdled by the rich local art, travel and tourism.

KITFest Celebrates preeminent theatrical performances and productions from various parts of the Country and from around the globe while promoting and showcasing the diverse cultural practices and offering a platform where existing and emerging theatre companies and artists can express themselves and fully realize their potential.

Speaking to the audience gathered for the occasion, Ms. Rosemary expressed the county’s commitment to fostering and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Nairobi.

“This Festival offers an opportunity to various theatre artists, practitioners and professionals to interact and share their skills, knowledge and experiences in the industry.

The county is fully behind each and every participant who brings their passion, talent, and creativity to our cultural scene. We are here not only to support but to celebrate the diversity and richness that defines us.” She Said.

The County Executive further stated that top of H.E Governor Sakaja’s agendas, includes a strategic focus on expanding cultural activities and bolstering the creative economy. “Our Governor is keen on amplifying cultural engagements and ensuring that creative industries thrive, as promised in his manifesto. In preparation for the upcoming festivals, I want to encourage everyone to come out and participate as I pledge the county’s unwavering support for the cultural sector and its invaluable role in shaping Nairobi’s identity.” Said Ms. Rosemary.
