Inclusivity, Public Participation and Customer Service Sector Working Group (SWG) held a workshop for its members aimed at coordinating the different departments in the sector and ensure there’s mobilization of technical and financial resources as well as improvement of service delivery and sector outcomes.
The SWG members were sensitized on Procurement Process, Budget making process, budget cycle, County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP), Annual Development Plan (ADP), policy making process and Performance contract targets by officers drawn from County Finance and Economic Planning Sector and Directorate of Performance Management.
County Chief Officer for City Culture, Arts and Tourism Mr. Clement Rapudo while giving the opening remarks acknowledged the commitment and dedication of the staff in the betterment of the Sector and county as a whole.
“This workshop is of great importance because we have to come together as a team to cautiously examine and learn more on the development of sector specific planning documents. Let’s also hold each other accountable as we strive to improve service delivery and drive change.” Said Mr. Rapudo
His Counterpart in charge of Gender and Inclusivity Ms. Maryam Dahir stressed out on the importance of all the departments within the sector working together to ensure that the sector’s plans are realized, ultimately fulfilling H.E Governor Sakaja’s manifesto.
She said,” As a sector we have to come together and think outside the box to ensure that our plans are implemented. Let’s accept challenges and find a solution together as we ensure that we create synergy as a sector and identify areas of improvement and adjustments.”
The Chief Officer in charge of Public participation, Citizen engagement and Customer service Ms. Zipporah Mwangi on her part lauded the sector’s staff for their devotion and commitment in ensuring that the sector meets the budget and planning standards.
Said Ms. Zipporah, “This workshops focus is to ensure members understand and gain skills in budget planning and by the end of the workshop, we should have learned how to forecast expenditures, priorities projects and align financial resources with strategic goals among others”.
The Chairperson for the SWG and Deputy Director, Culture Ms. Stella Kemunto said the workshop is of great importance for the team members to come together and learn more about the development of sector specific planning documents.
Also in attendance were Director Performance Management Mr. Festus Macharia, Director Public participation and citizen engagement Mr. Patrick Angasa, Director Customer service Ms. Lydia Gatheru, Deputy Director Tourism Ms. Susan Mukuhi and Assistant Director administration Mr. Joseph Kamau.
