The County Executive also urged for the empowerment of communities to take the lead, by supporting grass root initiatives, local environmental champions and Community Based Organizations to drive change from the ground.
“Promoting the right to a clean and healthy environment requires us to be responsive to the needs of our communities. Conducting a thorough and participatory needs analysis is essential to avoid duplication of efforts and to ensure that our initiatives are addressing the real needs of our communities. This analysis will help us identify gaps, prioritize projects, and allocate resources efficiently. We should also engage with residents to understand their concerns and aspirations, ensuring our initiatives are inclusive and impactful.” He said.
He also asked them to develop a comprehensive and detailed work plan that will outline the specific initiatives the partnership will implement, while ensuring clarity and alignment of the objectives.
