Nairobi City County Executive Committee Member for Green Nairobi Mr. Ibrahim Auma and Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Ltd Board of Directors Chairman Mr. Arnold Karanja yesterday signed Performance Contract between Nairobi City County Government and the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Ltd, at the Company’s headquarter offices.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) Board of Directors and other Board Members.
“These contracts embody more than documentation. They epitomize a tangible pledge to our collective objectives and aspirations, cementing our determination to achieve nothing short of excellence in all our pursuits.” Said the CECM
The Green Nairobi boss mentioned that the County Executive was pleased by the Water Board’s commitment which he said has seen the roll out of several engagements with a view of channeling out solutions to reach the set targets under the performance contract with the County.
“Your pro-active engagement in meeting performance targets prior to formal contractual obligation is commendable and sets high standards for accountability and professionalism.” Mr. Auma told the Board members.
The Green Nairobi CECM is mandated by the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB) guidelines to appraise the Board of Directors yearly.
“The appraisal process will be comprehensive as it will evaluate the performance and contribution of individual board members to the company, assess the effectiveness of the committees formed within the Board, scrutinizing the policies and decisions that have positively impacted the Company’s trajectory.” Noted the County Executive.
Mr. Auma assured the Board members of the County Government’s support under the leadership of H.E Governor Sakaja Johnson as the company continues to take steps towards greater possibilities of improving the customer experience and making the City a place to live with dignity.
The meeting also provided insights of the Company’s general performance. The County Executive was briefed on various ongoing and planned projects, achievements and challenges experienced by the company.
The Board of Directors commended the Nairobi County leadership for the support accorded to them. They also lauded Green Nairobi Executive Mr. Ibrahim Auma for being hands on and for being the first ever County Executive Committee Member to visit the office and hold such a meeting, adding that this has brought about staff motivation.
Mr. Auma was also walked through offices and other facilities within the office compound to get to know of activities and operations that take place at the company.
