Nairobi 12th September, 2024
NCCG receives a commitment for the development of a Maternal and Newborn Care Center at Kaloleni Health Centre in Makadara Sub-County. The Latter Day Saints Humanitarian Charity has inked an agreement for donation of the project estimated at USD 300,000. The County Government is expected to develop designs for the project and offer technical supervision of the works towards delivery of the facility. Further discussions are ongoing with the Charity towards supporting the proposed transformation of the Nairobi Funeral Home and expansion of the Breast Milk Bank at Pumwani Maternity Hospital.
Speaking during the signing of the commitment by the partners, Director for Donor Coordination reiterated the gratitude of H.E Governor Sakaja for the expressed goodwill in supporting his Healthcare Transformation agenda for the benefit of Nairobians. He indicated that the County Government looks forward to work with the Charity in implementing priority projects towards restoration of dignity for the people of Nairobi.
The technical team comprising of Building services, Health Sector, Public Works and Office ofcthe Governor are set to convene on Friday 13th to deliberate on the work plan for delivery of the project.
Present during the occasion included Dr. Somane (DMOH- Makadara), Head of Budget- Nancy Kiruri, Dep Director Administration (Inspectorate) Joyce Somoni and Daniel Otieno (IGR) among others. The Charity was represented by its Director of Humanitarian Assistance Denis Mukasa and Attorney Jeffrey Redds.
