At a familiarization meeting with sub-sector and departmental heads, the new County Executive Committee Member in Charge of Business and Hustler Opportunities Sector, Dr. Anastasia Nyalita, thanked Governor Sakaja for the opportunity to continue serving the people of Nairobi as an Executive Member in the sector. She expressed her desire for an action-oriented approach within the Sector, with the goal of making the sector a more agile and efficient in realization of its mandate.
Dr. Nyalita commended the directors present for their departmental achievements and urged them to continue their efforts towards completing ongoing projects. These projects include the CAIPS project, construction and rehabilitation of markets, the Biashara Stimulus Programme, and the Nairobi City County Betting, Lotteries, and Gaming Bill 2023. She emphasized that these projects are part of the Governor’s manifesto.
In their remarks, the Chief Officer for Markets and Trade Ms. Jane Wangui, and the incoming Chief Officers, Mr. George Mutiso for Cooperatives and Mr. Boniface Nyamu for Business and Hustler Opportunities, welcomed Dr. Nyalita. Having witnessed her success in previous positions, they expressed optimism that she will propel the Sector to meet its set targets.
“We also promise to upscale revenue collection through teamwork and collaborations with relevant stakeholders,” said the Chiefs. “This is necessary for effective service delivery.”
Dr. Nyalita takes charge of the Sector from Ms. Maureen Njeri, who moved to the Green Nairobi Sector in the same capacity following Governor Johnson Sakaja’s recent reshuffle of Executive Members and Chief Officers.
