Nairobi City County records a total of KES 12.1 billion in revenue collection, up from KES 10 billion collected in previous years.
Speaking at an introductory meeting for the newly appointed Chief Officer for Boroughs and Sub County Administration, Mr. Bernard Kiala and the 85 Ward Administrators, Nairobi Governor Johnson A. Sakaja commended the Sub-County and ward Administrators for their input in revenue collection and urged them to continue carrying out their mandate without fear or bias.
“I encourage you to work with Chief Kiala to solve your grievances.” Sakaja said. “My office is always ready and willing to offer the necessary support to make Nairobi Work.”
Also speaking at the meeting, the Executive Member for Boroughs Administration and Personnel, Mr. Patrick Mbogo, promised to work with Mr. Kiala and look into the issues raised, which include:
- Facilitation;
- Hostility from the Public;
- Career progression;
- Mobility among others.Present at the meeting also was Mr. Joel Muli, the Director for Boroughs and Sub County Administration, Mr. Eston Kiyai Deputy Director Boroughs and Sub County Administration, Mr. Robert Richu, Assistant Director, Boroughs and Sub County Administration among other senior officers in the sub sector.
