Nairobi City County traders to start receiving County subsidized single digit business loans through the County Biashara Stimulus Programme in the next 2months after the successful 2day Public Participation barazas conducted in all the 17 Sub Counties.
The County Executive for Business and Hustler Opportunities Sector Ms. Maureen Njeri speaking at the Mbotela Social Hall during the second day of Public Engagements that were conducted in 9 Sub Counties including;Embakasi North,South,East,West and Central,Makadara,Ruaraka,Roysambu and Kasarani,said the Biashara Stimulus Programme is in line with Governor Johnson A Sakaja’s promise of uplifting the livelihoods of Nairobi residents by creating Opportunities for All.
Said Maureen, “The Biashara Stimulus Programme is an all-inclusive avenue for Micro and Small Enterprise business people who operate within the law but lack funds for expansion due to high interest rates that our able Governor through his government has promised to assist.”
Executive Maureen also said the County has a team in place to collect data at the grassroots and vet potential beneficiaries who will receive training on financial literacy and capacity building before accessing the loans through registered groups of 5members and above to ensure the traders are able to sustain their businesses.
Present were traders from Uhuru,Jericho,Mutindwa markets,area Civic leaders among others.
