Deputy Governor of Nairobi Explores Bilateral Opportunities with Belarus in Pivotal Interview: Strengthening Ties and Collaboration for the Future

Massive opportunities exist between Nairobi-Kenya and Belarus.

The National State Teleradio Company of the Republic of Belarus, today conducted an interview with the Deputy Governor of Nairobi H.E Njoroge Muchiri, with an aim to fast track opportunities that exist between Belarus and Kenya particularly in the capital City Nairobi.

This is a build up to a meeting between the President of the Republic of Belarus H.E Aleksandr Lushenko and the President of the Republic of Kenya H.E William Samoei Ruto at State house Nairobi in December, where the two leaders agreed to broaden ties in the areas of renewable energy, trade, investment and Education.
Belarus4During the interview the Deputy Governor stressed the importance of Kenya on the global map as the largest and most advanced economy in East and Central Africa, with Nairobi being the only Capital in the global south to host UN bodies headquarters namely UN Habitat and UNEP among other International bodies, multinational organizations and Diplomatic missions.

Areas of collaboration that could be explored in the near future and that were highlighted in the interview included; Solid waste management Infrastructure; Specialized Irrigation and water management systems; Knowledge and skills sharing; Modern Agricultural equipment to enhance food security among others.

The Deputy Governor was flanked by the County Chief Officer -Works, Eng. Geoffrey Tirop and Director Administration Office of the Deputy Governor Dr. Lucas Ngaruiya.

The team from Belarus was led by Mr. Maksim Supanenko, the Counsellor Trade Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Kenya, in the company of Mr. Sergey Gusachenko the First Deputy Chairperson -National TeleRadio Company of the Republic of Belarus.
