The County Director for Water and Sanitation and the Chairperson for World Water Day Planning Committee Mr. Mario Kainga, led committee members on site visits in search for a venue to host World Water day 2024 celebrations which is scheduled to take place on 22nd March 2024.
The Planning Committee members visited Small Axe Riparian park along Gatharaini river in Kasarani Sub County and Kombo Green in Korogocho. They also engaged Kombo Green Solutions at Korogocho and Gatharaini Rua; both Community Based Organizations who have helped maintain the two riparian sites.
The Committee members are drawn from different departments; Water and Sanitation, Compliance and Security, Disaster Management, Donor and Stakeholder Engagement, Public Communications and Environment.
