We all have a responsibility to make Nairobi work- Says Sakaja as he met Multi sectoral teams at City hall

Nairobi, 14th November, 2022

This morning Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson met the multi sectoral team that secured the four footbridges (Muthurwa, Wakulima, Haile Sellasie Retail market Muthurwa – Country Bus muthurwa and Burma- Jogoo road foot) in Starehe sub-County yesterday.

Said Governor Sakaja: “I need to see this in each and every sub county going forward. We all have a responsibility to make Nairobi work and this starts by us working as teams and not in silos”.

This comes after the Governor banned hawkers and street children from occupying the footbridges in a bid to curb spiraling crime in City.

The team included Calvince Okello – Starehe Subcounty Administrator, James Otiende – Ward Admin CBD, William Kangogo – Director Operations Enforcement, Dan Miheso – Sub County Environment Officer and Simon Munguti – Fire department.

The team is currently planning to secure the same in other sub counties.
