Mombasa, 3rd April 2025
The Inclusivity, Public Participation, and Customer Service Sector Working Group (SWG) held a strategic workshop to align sector programs with the Governor’s manifesto and County Plans.
The forum fostered collaboration between the three key sub-sectors: Gender & Inclusivity, Culture, Arts & Tourism, and Public Participation, Citizen Engagement & Customer Service.
Participants were sensitized on key planning and budgeting frameworks, including the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP), Annual Development Plan (ADP), budget cycle, procurement processes, and financial planning documents.
Speaking at the workshop, Chief Officer Zipporah Mwangi emphasized the SWG’s role in linking sector programs with national and county development objectives. “There is immense power when a group of people with similar interests gets together to work towards the same goal,” she said. She further stressed the importance of collaboration in ensuring that planning documents are properly prepared and submitted on time. “Reviewing our Annual Development Plan commitments is crucial in measuring our progress and charting the way forward. When we understand our fiscal boundaries, we can prioritize projects effectively, ensuring we operate within our means while striving for impactful outcomes.”
Sector Budget Officer Walter Oduor guided members through budget formulation, while Treasury representatives, led by Mr. Momani, trained attendees on the IFMIS platform and the new Electronic Government Procurement (eGP) system, set for implementation by June 2025.
The workshop was attended by Directors, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors, and SWG officers.
