Nairobi City County Revenue collection department spearheaded by County Chief Officer, Revenue Administration, and Wilson Gakuya held a training session for revenue officers tasked with issuing the recently launched Unified Business Permit (UBP).
Speaking during the event which was held at the Charter hall, Wilson Gakuya, County Chief Officer Gakuya, “As UBP takes shape, we will continue to have more staff trained on all the elements of the UBP with a special interest in universal billing and itemized coding. We want our staff to be able to trouble shoot, assist customers with payments, and generally ensure efficiency and transparency. We have lined up several training sessions internally, which will be attended by technical officers. We have identified the following key sectors and personnel.
- CO Lands – Valuation, rates, ground rent billing, land survey
- CO Health – food handlers, health certificate, and food hygiene
- CO Mobility – loading zones, psv, seasonal parking, and daily parking enforcement
- CO revenue – house and stall rent, miscellaneous
- CO Trade – SBP processes in UBP and NAICS
- CO Urban Planning – Small Format Advertising
- CO Disaster Management – fire
On 1st January 2024, Nairobi City County Government, under the leadership of Governor Sakaja Johnson, rolled out the Unified Business Permit (UBP). The UBP combines the business, fire, food, health, and advertising licenses into one and will be available on the Nairobi City County Government’s NairobiPay Revenue service online portal
Said Mr. Gakuya, ” I want to reiterate that NCCG operates a NO CASH policy in revenue collection. Customers are advised to make their payments through the Nairobi City County Government Revenue collection accounts once they obtain their invoices.
