Nairobi, 14th April 2024

Nairobi City County  Battle of The Choirs(BOTC) task force team held a Post Mortem Forum to discuss and analyze the event which took place during the Easter weekend on the 31st and 1st April 2024 at KICC.

Dr. Anastasia Nyalita, County Executive for Inclusivity, Public Participation and Customer Service, where City Culture, Arts and Tourism is domiciled said,” I am very delighted to be here because what we are doing today is at the core of what our mandate is as a county. The Vibe of the City is one of the top 10 priority projects for H.E. the Governor and indeed we must ensure continuous review and improvement of the events we host as a sub sector as we strive to reignite the Vibe of the City.”
Choir2024 1“I want to thank each and every one of you for the hard work you put to make the Battle of Choirs event a successful one. Without a doubt, we have a very committed and vibrant team so let’s give candid feedback and share new ideas on how we can make the 3rd edition of the Battle of Choirs a bigger and better event.” said Dr. Nyalita.

County Chief Officer for City Culture, Arts and Tourism, Clement Rapudo said, “when you look at H.E. The Governor’s Manifesto it talks about promoting the creative economy and providing an atmosphere and platform for the creation of more job opportunities for young people in Nairobi, creating a space to collaborate with young local artists, musicians, and performers to create immersive experiences that showcase the city’s cultural richness and creating a platform to make a living. This has been proven by the successfulness of the 1st and 2nd edition of the BOTC.”
Choir2024 5Mr. Rapudo further encouraged the team to be more dynamic and flexible in making the event an even more successful one next year. He said, “let’s start planning early from the sub county level for the 3rd edition as we strive to make Nairobi the cultural Centre for East Africa.”

She also gave an expert’s opinion on how the BOTC has been so far, highlighting the hits and misses from an outsider’s perspective.
