Said one of the officials “As much as we want to condemn negative ethnicity, we want to celebrate positive ethnicity. And culture is that one thing that brings out positive ethnicity among the different Kenyans. We are trying to bring out together cultures of different ethnic communities not only within the nation but even outside the country. We want Kenyans wherever they are to look themselves on a positive side. We need to look ourselves as Kenyans with a lot of pride. We need to celebrate our diversity and not condemn it.”
The festival has boosted tourism and small businesses in the ocean city.
