Nairobi, 19th January, 2024
In January 2024, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja shared a meal with pupils of Kinyanjui Road Primary School.
At least 60 schools in Nairobi are set to benefit from the Dishi na County school feeding Programme as it enters Phase II.
Says Governor Sakaja, “So far ten (10) kitchens have been completed in 10 sub counties in Nairobi, supported by a Giga kitchen in industrial area that produces 60,000 meals per day. We expect to build 7 more kitchens in 7 sub counties in the next 12 weeks. These will be ready in time for 2nd term. Currently, the Dishi na County school feeding program is feeding approximately
180,000 learners. Once all 17 kitchens are functional, the program will feed a total of 250,000 children in Term 2.
