Nairobi County’s Tourism department will take part in the week-long Tourism, Wildlife, and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) Week, a major highlight leading up to the Jamuhuri Day 2025 National Celebrations on December 12th.
“This year’s event, running from December 8th to 12th, places the vital tourism sector, its rich cultural heritage, and wildlife conservation at the forefront of the national celebration. Nairobi County’s efforts in supporting the tourism sector and MICE events are pivotal. Key activities will include; Cultural Exhibitions & Immersive experiences that will showcase Kenya’s diverse artistry, heritage, and traditions, including beadwork, wood-carving, and handicrafts.
An expanded Tourism & MICE Expo that will bring together stakeholders in hospitality, conservation, county tourism boards, and international delegates to explore investment and partnership opportunities.
Virtual Reality (VR) Installations that will offer visitors a new dimension to explore Kenya’s iconic landscapes and heritage sites.
Conservation forums and discussions on sustainable tourism practices and investing in wildlife protection.” said Mrs. Rosemary Kariuki, Nairobi County Executive for Inclusivity, Public Participation and Citizen Engagement.
The Tourism Ministry has designated the celebration under the critical topic “Wildlife for Sustainable Tourism Growth. The central guiding theme for all activities and discussions and will harness Wildlife for Sustainable Tourism Growth: Investing in Conservation, Communities, and Green Prosperity.
The theme underscores the National government’s commitment to using Kenya’s and Nairobi’s unparalleled natural assets to drive economic growth while ensuring environmental protection and community benefit.
