Nairobi county Liquor Department to host street festival….unveils county wide sensitization road show.

Nairobi County Executive for Business and Hustlers Opportunities, Dr. Anastasia Nyalita and Ag. County Secretary Godfrey Akumali jointly flagged off a road show truck, which will be used to sensitize Nairobi residents on the dangers of excessive alcohol consumption and abuse.

“Abuse of alcohol, drugs, and other substances is slowly on the rise in the city.  Governor, Sakaja, is keen to ensure a healthy and sober county. We will continue sensitizing Nairobi residents on the dangers of excessive alcohol consumption and substance abuse.” Said, Dr. Nyalita.
Alcho 3The department will also host a street festival, powered by the Nairobi County Liquor Board.

“The street festival extravaganza will be held tomorrow, 12th December at the Uhuru Park from 9am. We will use this platform to amplify the dangers of excessive alcohol consumption and substance abuse. The two day roadshow event is a build-up activity to the street festival aimed at creating awareness and educating the public on the effects of excessive consumption alcohol and substance abuse.

The event will feature performances by popular and upcoming local artists, freestyle football, skating and exhibition by Medium and Small Enterprises.” Said Chief Officer, Business and Hustlers Opportunities and Ag. County Secretary, Godfrey Akumali, Rhoda Otieno, the Director, Liquor Department said that so far the roadshow truck has covered;
Alcho 5Ngara, Pumwani, Makongeni, Kaloleni, Pangani Mlango Kubwa, Mathare, Huruma Kariobangi South/North and Umoja.

Today the road show truck is expected in Jogoo road, Makadara, City stadium, Land mawe, South B via Mater hospital, Langata, Otiende, Upper and Lower Kibera, Jamhuri/Ayany, Kibera main,Dagoreti corner, Kawangware and Kabiria.
