NAIROBI COUNTY HOLDS CONSULTATIVE MEETING WITH JEEVANJEE/BACHELOR QUARTERS ESTATE TENANTS

Nairobi 26th November 2019

Nairobi City County’s Housing Sector held a consultative meeting with Jeevanjee and Bachelor Quarters Estate Tenants to discuss on the planned Housing Development Project.

Nairobi City County Director for Housing Jecinta Charles thanked the tenants for attending the meeting and requested them to allow the developer take them through the project plan presentation.

She said the County is keen on realizing one of the Big 4 agenda by the National Government which is, adequate and affordable housing for Nairobians.

Ms. Jecinta invited the Developer, Director Abdul Kadir Hussein, who told the tenants that they intended to develop 1,546 housing units. Thereafter, Architect Abdi Ismail took the tenants through the different floor plans which will comprise of 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom and 3 bedrooms.

The County Executive Committee Member for Lands, Urban Planning, Urban Renewal, Housing and Project Management Pauline Kahiga thanked the tenants for coming and reiterated that there will be no further extension to the tenants to vacate the County houses. She assured the tenants that a joint account between the developer and Nairobi City County will be opened specifically for lease deposits for accountability purpose.
