Nairobi County Gears Up with Key Stakeholders for World Water Day: Collaboration Key to Addressing Water Challenges

Several stakeholders including Water and Sanitation for Urban Poor(WSUP), World Water Net, Fresh Life, UNICEF, Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, Water and Sanitation Providers Association (WASPA), Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company, Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and Private Exhausters Association have come on board to partner with Nairobi County in making the forthcoming World Water day event successful.
Waterday1Mr. Oscar Omoke, Nairobi County Chief Officer, Water and Sanitation hosted the partners in a wider stakeholders planning meeting in preparation for the World Water Day celebrations which will be held on 22nd March 2024, under the theme; Leveraging Water for Peace ‘

“There is need for Water &Sanitation Providers Association and Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company to work together in order to effectively tackle the issue of Non-Revenue Water. It is also important we identify more investors on the issue of Exhausters and water bowsers.” Said Chief Omoke.

The meeting was attended by amongst others, Director Water and Sanitation Mr. Mario Kainga and his Deputy Mr. Charles Gathara.
