While addressing the audience Dr. Nyalita said, “This year’s theme, “Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All,” resonates deeply with our core values and Governor Sakaja’s manifesto that is focused on Order, Dignity, Hope and Opportunities for all. It is a call to action, a reminder of the collective responsibility we bear to ensure that every individual in our society is treated with the respect and fairness they deserve.”
She further stated “In times of adversity, the true strength of a society lies in its ability to respond with empathy, accountability, and a resolute commitment to fairness. It is disheartening to witness the challenges our people face due to economic hardships, and it is our duty, as public servants, to address these issues head-on.”
“Accountability from public institutions is not just an expectation, it is a fundamental right of the people. As Nairobi county, our focus on having a city of Order, Dignity, Hope and Opportunities for all ensures that we champion transparency, inclusivity, and citizen empowerment. Our doors are open for partnerships for we strongly believe that together, we will work tirelessly to ensure that the voices of the people are heard, their concerns addressed, and their rights protected.”
The County Executive also urged the audience to use their platform for advocacy to ensure that the principles of dignity, freedom, and justice are not just ideals but living realities for all, she said, “As we unpack the theme in the context of economic challenges, let us not forget that the fight for human rights is intertwined with the fight for economic justice. A fairer society is one where every citizen has access to the basic necessities of life without fear of discrimination or deprivation.”
