Nairobi County Chief Officer for Digital Economy and Startups, Victor Otieno attended the KPMG Private Enterprise Speed Pitching Event at the KPMG Private Enterprise Mixer moderated by Sandeep Main, Tax Partner & Head of Private Enterprise KPMG East Africa.
The County Chief Officer shared programs that Nairobi City County Government, Startup and Digital Economy sub sector has implemented and aspires to execute to support Kenya’s innovation ecosystem together with its partners.
He further reiterated the sub sector’s desire to develop a framework that allows local innovations to percolate into county sectors through incubation hubs and hackathons, among others.
Said Mr. Otieno “As a County Government through H.E the Governor, we continue to support startups on the policy front through collaboration with other national government ministries , state agencies, and regulators.
Other panelists were, Partner, Deal Advisory at KPMG East Africa, Makenzi Muthusi, Chief Operating Officer and Interim CEO East Africa Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (EAVCA), Jacklyne Iminza-Anyamba, and Startinev, Strategy & Partnerships Director ,Zee Gitahi.
