Elias Kemboi and Sheila Chepkoech are the 42 Km men’s and women’s winners respectively in this years’ Nairobi Standard Chartered Marathon.
Seline Ogalo, Sub County Administrator, Langata who flagged off the 10Km race which attracted a total of 10,000 participants and spoke on behalf of Nairobi City County Governor, Sakaja Johnson, said “Nairobi County has been a key partner as the event Host for the Standard Chartered Marathon over the last 18 years. We value and appreciate this support and look forward to even greater collaboration.”
This year, Nairobi county has supported the Marathon through waivers, permits, ambulances and fire engines valued at KES 10M.
Governor Sakaja further mentioned that he intends to transform Nairobi into a city of sports and talents by increasing avenues for youth to develop talent.
The County was represented by a strong contingent in the 10km corporate relay race;
