Nairobi City County Vocational Training Institutions to receive a boost of free training from Pratham International a USA-based NGO.

County Executive for Talents, Skills, Development and Care, Rosemary Kariuki, recently received a delegation from Pratham International a USA-based NGO located in Mumbai India. The organization which focuses on high-quality, low cost and replicable interventions to address gaps in education and training systems is seeking to train youth of 18-25 years from Nairobi County who are from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and provide them with employable skills coupled with access to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Voctraining8The NGO has also redesigned models to incorporate digital resources and facilitate hybrid skilling programs to help youth find employment in the post-pandemic world.

The County Executive also visited Waithaka Vocational Training Center where Wezesha Vijana program is being developed. She encouraged young people to apply for the scholarship which will be the 1st Cohort of the project. The program is supported by Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Safaricom foundation and Caritas.

The County Executive was accompanied by Director Vocational Training Mr. Leornad Mititi.
