Business and hustler opportunities sector, through the Directorate of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development undertook an internal stakeholders meeting for the soon to be operationalized, Nairobi City County Biashara stimulus programme.
This is in preparation for the upcoming Public Participation exercise slated for 3rd and 4th April, 2024 in all the 17 Sub Counties.
Speaking at the Internal Stakeholders meeting, CECM for Business & Hustler Opportunities, Maureen Njeri, said that the programme is targeted on existing viable business enterprise and that the plan is to avail affordable credit to the MSEs by subsidizing the interest cost to single digit, in order to boost capital to their businesses.
Said Maureen, “As one of Governor Sakaja’s promises to the residents of Nairobi in line with his manifesto that he would deliver a City of opportunities for all, with this Biashara Stimulus Programme being one of the critical flagship programme. This Programme will be transparent in the application and disbursement process hence creating a level playing field for all”.
Speaking also at the forum was the Chief Officer Business and Hustler Opportunities, Ms. Zipporah Mwangi, who emphasized on the need for the stakeholders present to mobilize and sensitive the targeted beneficiaries for ownership of the programme.

Director Public Participation Mr. Patrick Anga’sa, Directors from various departments, Sub County and Ward Administrators, Market Managers, Community Development Officers, Community Health Promoters among others.
