Nairobi City County Wards Development Fund ( WDF) County Management Committee ( CMC) members led by Ward Development Fund CEO, Josephine Kithi, Nairobi City County Attorney, Lydia Kwamboka are in Mombasa for a capacity building and induction workshop as they embark on the implementation process of the Nairobi City County Ward Development Fund Act 2014.The theme of the workshop is ” developing a city for the future”.
Nairobi City County Wards Development Fund Act 2014 is an Act of Nairobi City County Assembly to provide for the establishment, administration and use of the ward development funds and for connected purposes.
The Nairobi City County Attorney Lydiah Kwamboka said that the objective of the Act is to ensure that 5% of the County’s annual budget is devoted to wards for purposes of development.
WDF CEO, Josephine Kithi Said, ” We will use this time to engage in some serious conversations around
– The Nairobi City County Ward Development Fund Act 2014.
– Introduction to devolved government and the place of the WDF
-Conduct of business and affairs of WDF_CMC
-powers and mandates of WDF-CMC among other topics.”
In attendance also are ;Beatrice Kiragu- chairperson WDF, Patricia Mutheu- chair Assembly Committee for Ward Development Fund and a team from Nairobi Metropolitan Services.
