Nairobi City County Government receives health equipments from Malteser International

Nairobi County’s Health, Wellness and Nutrition, County Executive, Dr. Anastasia Nyalita and other executive sector officials received a total of   30 Lowenstein ventilators, 100 pulse oximeters,15 normal vent set trolleys,15 vent lock accessories among other Health equipment from Malteser International, who are the implementing organization of the Sovereign Order of Malta, at an event held at Lady the Northey Health Centre-Emergency Operation Centre (EOC).
2 3The equipment was presentation by Clemens Graf Von Mirbach-Harff, Head of delegation who was accompanied by Martin Schomburg, the Country coordinator and H.E Dr. Wilhelm von Trott zu Solz, the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Kenya among other members from the Organization.

Dr. Nyalita, who read Governor Sakaja’s speech thanked   Malteser International for its support during the recent cholera outbreak in Nairobi.
3 4“Malteser International immensely supported us during the recent cholera outbreak in line with the universal Health coverage initiative. Nairobi City County Government has deliberately stepped up to set up highly functional Intensive Care Units at all level five health facilities i.e. Pumwani Maternity, Mbagathi and Mama Lucy Kibaki hospital,” said Dr. Nyalita.

She also hailed the continued partnership between the two organizations. “I want to confirm that the county is ready for strategic partnerships and stakeholder engagements with like-minded partners. We will endeavor to share the Health Reforms Taskforce sector report that was launched by the Governor recently as it also highlights emergency relief with long-term development measures in 32 countries with Nairobi City County being among the beneficiaries, for Malteser International to select areas to align with and offer support to ensure Nairobi works.”
1 3Arising from the county’s partnership with Malteser International, the county has so far trained over 1,400 health personnel on first aid, emergency vehicle response, basic life support, and instructions on protocol during emergencies added Dr. Nyalita.
