Nairobi City County Government yesterday engaged the Bela Risu Foundation and Medical Centre for a possible partnership in enhancing access to maxillofacial services targeting cleft lip and cleft palate surgeries through selected County Health Facilities.
Bela Risu Medical Centre is the only facility in Sub Saharan Africa offering this specialized service free of charge to thousands of deserving cases.
The County Chief Officer for Medical services Dr. Irene Muchoki assured the partners of the Health Sector’s readiness to rapidly facilitate a productive partnership through co-creation of joint programs targeting those in need of the service.
County Director for Donor Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement Mr. Kefa Omanga expressed the County Government’s commitment to turn around patients’ experience in all the areas of service delivery in the County’s Healthcare Centres.
From the deliberations, it was agreed that the Directorate for Donor Coordination facilitates the conception of a framework for partnership to enable the Health sector , while Bela Risu medical Center will develop a roll out of joint services.
Present in the meeting were ; Mr. Zaddock Angaya.( Representing the County Chief Officer for Health Facilities), Ag. Director of Medical Services Dr. Essam, Director Protocol Javas Bigambo, and Assistant Director Donor Coordination Victor Ogonda.
Bela Risu was represented by Dr. Kamau, Dr. Kimani and Co- Founder Ms. Scine.
