Nairobi city county Executive and county assembly this week held a joint working retreat in Mombasa to evaluate performance the last five years. The Liaison committee of the county assembly appraised the executive on the county performance and exit reports as the county prepares for transition.
The chair of the Liaison committee and the member of the county assembly for Ruai Hon. John Kamangu said the Executive were keen to evaluate all workplans against what’s been achieved in the last five years. Said Hon. Kamangu, “The County is tasked to provide quality services to Nairobians. Hence we are here to see how the county has performed in the Key areas such as provision of quality services and good governance for the last 5 years and to to also conduct and assessment and evaluation.”
Nairobi County secretary dr. Jairus Musumba said that the retreat focused on reviewing the performance of the 10 sectors of the county and each sector performance as well as look at the challenges experienced and how best to tackle them and mitigate.
Some of the notable achievements include; Improved remittance of deduction and resolution of statutory debts, continuous re negotiation towards resolution of the huge debts owed, promotion of over 7,000 employees, and recruitment of 800 constables and 300 firemen and women.
The session was attended by County Executives, Chief officers, Directors and key staff members.
