Nairobi City County, ICT Infrastructure sub sector held a meeting with Dell Technologies regional representatives and discussed on ways the sub sector can tap into emerging technologies to improve on IT Transformation, Cyber resilience and business continuity especially where county key applications are concerned.
Dell Technologies is one of the largest tech companies that have their local presence in Nairobi, providing technology solutions such as cloud computing, converged ICT infrastructure, and server virtualization, among others.
County Chief Officer for ICT Infrastructure, John Lintari said ” The Innovation and Digital Economy Sector is ready and willing to provide a conducive environment in readiness for hosting the various county applications in the rapidly changing computing arena”.
Innovation and Digital Economy Advisor to H.E the Governor, George Musyoka emphasized the need for a framework in which the county can benefit from modern technology through partnerships with leading technology firms that will catapult the County into a modern County Government IT platform.
Ag. County Director for ICT Infrastructure, Truphena Ogonda said ” This meeting is timely, considering that the sector is in the process of compiling the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) report, a crucial document for government financial planning. This will inform the proper aligning of ICT resources during the development of the sector budget. ”
In attendance was Ag. Assistant Director Infrastructure, Onesmus Mwangi, Dell Technologies team led by Storage Director Africa, Kuvesh Ramjathan, Storage specialist, James Karanja, Senior Solution Architect and Account Manager, Irene Ndungu.
