NAIROBI: 8th AUGUST 2023
An agreement is forming between the Nairobi City County Government and an Italian Non-Governmental Organization known as NO ONE OUT ITALY-KENYA. The objective of this partnership is to promote inclusive vocational education for vulnerable youth and young people with disabilities.
NO ONE OUT aims to benefit two distinct groups: young students aged 15-35 and educational staff and stakeholders above 35. The young students attending professional institutes were the primary beneficiaries, receiving access to educational services and improved opportunities for work through various project activities.
Said the Chief Officer Early Childhood Education Development and Vocational Training “The partnership is sought to strengthen the standards of 8 vocational training centers (VTCs) in Nairobi County and develop an action plan for educational, social, and professional inclusion of vulnerable youth and people with disabilities. Over a 36-month period, we have planned to enhance the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system, promoting equality and accessibility for students with disabilities.”
“The county government has agreed to support the collaboration by facilitating access to VTCs, allocating resources, and participating in key project meetings. NO ONE OUT and its partners committed to providing technical and financial support for improving the project activities and conducting research and evaluation.” Said the Chief Officer
The agreement will include provisions for budget and fund disbursement, rights to shared materials and outputs, dispute settlement through mutual agreement or arbitration, organizing, planning, and reporting responsibilities, and confidentiality obligations.
Both parties have agreed to work together with mutual respect and cooperation to achieve their shared objectives of promoting inclusive vocational education in Nairobi County.
