Nairobi City County Ag.County Secretary Mr. Leboo Ole Morintat on 30th July 2019 inspected various County projects which are near completion before they are commissioned.
The Ag. County Secretary was accompanied by CECM for Education, Gender and Social Services Lucia Mulwa, Chief Officers for Disaster Management and Devolution Ann Mwenda and Dr. Musumba respectively, Embakasi West Sub County Administrator Janet Kimeu various Directors, and County Engineers
The projects inspected were Kangundo Road Modern fire station, Kangundo road modern market at Mowlem Ward, Embakasi, Sub-County ,Dandora stadium and the new maternity wing at Mama Lucy hospital. The projects are in their final stages with only small touch ups remaining.
The mordern fire station which is 95 percent complete is expected to serve the larger Eastland area. The fire station will have fully equipped fire engines and ambulances.The station has facilities such as bore hole and an underground water tank to ensure enough water supply,15 cameras already fixed and a monitoring control room,stores,domitory with 25 cubicles and a gym among others.
The Kangundo road Modern market which is almost complete has a capacity of 2500 trades. The market comprises of spacious Meeting rooms and a special room set for the lactating mothers among other features.
The Dandora stadium which is also almost complete is set for a launch soon. This will ensure the area youth engage in more meaningful activities.
Mr. Leboo termed the projects a great venture by H.E the Governor of Nairobi Mike Mbuvi Sonko. He added that Governor Sonko’s major plan is to ensure fire stations in every Subcounty for quick response to fire incidences. Mr. Leboo also gave a warning to unscrupulous Kenyans against land grabbing
