Nairobi City County Governor H.E Ann Kananu, virtually signed the twining agreement between Nairobi City and the city of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Said Governor Kananu”Based on the Sister City International precedent and protocol. This signing is aimed at promoting mutual understanding, friendship, and cultural exchange between the Kenyan and American people, and consolidate and develop friendly cooperation between the two cities.”
The two cities agreed to make concerted effort on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, to promote people-to-people friendly contacts and economic and trade interflow between the two cities and actively carry out exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, science and technology, culture, sports, health, education, personnel, among others.
Said Nominated, Mbugua Kabiro, Nominated Member of County Assembly who witnessed the signing ceremony “The Agreement will be valid for ten years. Upon expiration, it may remain in force if neither side terminates it. This is a good thing for it City. Such agreements are usually reached to ensure cities mutually benefit from each other. I applaud Governor Kananu for her visionary thinking.”
