Mobility Boost; Nairobi County completes key road projects in major infrastructure push

Nairobi, 18th April, 2026

Residents and businesses in Embakasi South and Dagoretti North sub-counties are experiencing improved road conditions and accessibility following the completion of key road infrastructure projects in Kware, Imara Daima, and Kabiro wards.

The transformation is evident along Day-to-Day Swaminarayan Road in Kware Ward, where a once impassable earth track has been upgraded into a bituminous all-weather road. Previously, the road had poor drainage system, thus water was pounding on the carriageway making it unsafe for both motorists and pedestrians/residents in the densely populated neighborhood.

Speaking on the development, CEO, Ward Development Programme (WDP) Engineer Eston Kimathi emphasized that the roads go beyond basic infrastructure but also serve as enablers of economic and social development. “By constructing Day to Day Swaminarayan road in Kware ward, Kyangombe-Muthokinju road in Imara Daima ward and Gotham Muslim road in Kabiro ward, we have restored dignity and created opportunities for the residents of these ward through improved riding and walking surface and improved business environment. This is part of our continued commitment to delivering infrastructure that strengthens mobility, safety, and socio-economic development across Nairobi,” he said
