Nairobi, 9th September, 2021
Nairobi City County, Deputy Governor and Acting Governor, H.E Ann Kananu, yesterday evening received Estonian President, H.E Kersti Kaljulaid who arrived in Kenya for a three-day Official visit.
While in Kenya, the Estonian President will meet with President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House, Nairobi on Thursday afternoon.
The two Heads of State and their respective delegations will proceed to discuss several subjects of mutual interest to Kenya and the Baltic country.
H.E Kersti Kaljulaid’s visit to Kenya is the first official visit by an Estonian Head of State to an African country.
Said Ms. Kananu, “This is a welcomed visit by the Estonian Head of State. I know that part of Estonia’s Regional Strategy for Africa 2020-2030 is to open an embassy in Nairobi in 2022 making Kenya the second African Nation in Africa after Egypt, which has been in operation since 2010. I am looking forward to it coming to fruition as it will propel Nairobi to higher standards.”
