Nairobi City County Deputy Governor and acting Governor, H.E Ann Kananu hosted a delegation from the Auditor General’s office who paid her a courtesy call.
The delegation was led by the Deputy Auditor General, Mr. David Njoka came to discuss ways to strengthen working relations especially in the area of Audit reports; and improvement of Audit systems.
Said the Deputy Governor and Acting Governor “I applaud the collective efforts demonstrated by our teams to deliver the mandate at hand. I desire that we have more of such engagements where we challenge and correct one another, have routine reviews where we can gauge ourselves to the calling that is bestowed upon us by the citizens of this beautiful city of Nairobi. Audit work is a collaborative effort both from the auditors and auditees; As seen in the last 23 days that your team has been here in City hall.
Said Ms. Kananu “My Government and especially the team from finance and audit continue to adopt high level financial reporting standards which will ensure that public funds are utilized lawfully and effectively for the benefit of Nairobi residents.
H.E consequently acknowledged the Office of the Auditor General for taking keen interest in Nairobi County in ensuring that Public funds are used effectively and served the purpose they are meant to.
In a rejoinder the Deputy Auditor General, Mr.David Njoka thanked the acting Governor for creating an enabling environment for the auditors who have been working from the confines of City hall and for the cordial relationship the two institutions continued enjoying.
In attendance was County Executive Committee member Finance and Economic planning -Mr.Allan Igambi, Chief of Staff, Mutunga Mutungi, Chief Finance Officer, Halkano Waqo, Governors Political adviser, Mr. Mweha Kamau and Governor’s Economic Advisor Mr. Silvester Kasuku.
