Nairobi, 15th December, 2021
Nairobi City County Governor, Ann Kananu today met with Consultants from Geodev Limited, World Bank representatives and a team from the National Government state Department of Housing led by Engineer Njenga the secretary Nairobi Metropolitan Services. The consultants briefed the Governor on the project they have been awarded to develop an urban resilient strategy for Nairobi city.
The team of consultants has been appointed to undertake services for the provision of Development of Urban resilience strategies for five counties namely; Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru and Eldoret.
Governor Kananu assured the team of her total support and suggested that the technical team formed should be expanded to include all the relevant professionals. Said Governor, Ann Kananu,
“Joining hands with an organization like Geodev will bring great synergistic benefits to Nairobi city. Nairobi has grown to be one of the most prominent cities in Africa and home to numerous businesses. It is therefore important that the city becomes a leader in the effort to develop resilience in the 21st century. Resilience is therefore essential in making the city better both in the short and long term.”
In attendance during the meeting was Nairobi County Secretary, Dr. Jairus Musumba and Chief Officer Planning and Urban Renewal, Mr. Justus Kathenge.
