Nairobi, 28th, October, 2025
This morning Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson received the victorious Nairobi United football team at the Jomo Kenyatta airport.
‘Sakaja boys’ popular known as Naibois stunned Africa with a historic CAF feat on debut on Sunday by edging out the African heavyweights Etoile de Sahel 7–6 on penalties following a tense 2–2 aggregate draw, marking a landmark moment for Kenyan football.
Nairobi United became the first Kenyan club to reach the CAF group stage on debut, and the first since Gor Mahia in 2018 to advance this far in the competition.
Governor Sakaja was accompanied by his Chief of Staff, David Njoroge.
