Chief Officer for Social Services Mr. George Mutiso was among senior government officials who attended the Regional Conference for IGAD member states, MDBS, UN agencies and the civil society.
The conference that brought together leader from across the region was to discuss the development interventions as a contribution towards improving access to basic social services and economic opportunities to displacement affected areas, provide a platform for direct learning and experience sharing between countries and stakeholders in and across the region including local community structures and finally compile lessons learnt and key outcomes for presentations during the upcoming Global Refugee forum (GRF) in Geneva in December 2023.
Speaking at the Conference, the Chief Officer said “This conference marks a pivotal moment for us to strengthen ties, share insights, and forge partnerships that transcend borders. Together, as representatives of IGAD member states, MDBS, UN agencies, and the civil society, we hold the key to unlocking a future of prosperity, stability, and sustainable development for our region”
