Developing framework for Clean air in Nairobi County

To enhance the draft Nairobi City County Air Quality Action Plan 2025–2029, the County Air Quality and Climate Change Unit on Friday convened a stakeholder workshop aimed at gathering technical expertise to enrich the draft document.

The workshop was held in partnership with the Environmental Compliance Institute and the Clean Air Fund through the Breathe Cities Initiative. Both organizations have committed to working closely with Nairobi City County in developing the Action Plan, which aims to deliver cleaner air and healthier communities over the next five years.
Cleanairframewk 1Mr. Maurice Kavai, the County Deputy Director for Climate Change and Air Quality Monitoring said while appreciating the invaluable contribution from the participants “The draft Action Plan builds on the achievements, best practices, and lessons learned from the implementation of the 2019–2023 Action Plan. Your inputs and feedback from this meeting will be incorporated to produce an enhanced draft document.”

Stakeholders present included: – County and National government officials, development partners, community groups, private sector, independent experts, academia, and civil society organizations.
