Deputy Governor H.E Njoroge Muchiri joined H.E Pastor. Dr. Dorcas Rigathi at the launch of the Boy Child Wellness and Rehabilitation Camp, at the ASK grounds in Nairobi.
Statistics indicate that most gender equality campaigns focus on protecting girls while forgetting that boys too grapple with insecurities; parents on the other hand, will be more concerned on the well-being of their daughters who are considered weak and vulnerable, leaving out sons who are considered strong, hence no need for attention, at the mercy of the society.
The dream to achieve gender equality has been crippled by exclusion of boys and this remains a global concern. As a result, cases of conflict with the law are on the rise, an illiterate population, increased crime and low self-esteem among the male gender.
Among the dignitaries present were ;Hon. Esther Passaris (Nairobi County Women Rep), Hon Felix Odiwour (Langata MP), Hon Beatrice Elachi (Dagoretti North), church leaders and a host of other elected and local leaders.
