Cutting the cost: Sakaja moves county vehicles from private garages

Nairobi Friday, 22 March2024.

Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson today visited the county central garage to access the ongoing repair works of county vehicles, and machines.

The governor was pleased by the ongoing works at the garage where the heavy, and light machines were being repaired, including the compactor which will be taken to the Dandora Dumpsite soon.

The governor said all vehicle repairs henceforth will be done at the central garage and not in private garages in a bid to cut down costs.

“A total of 38 machines and vehicles are ready, and another 30 in the works. This is part of our promise to cut down the cost using the new expertise that we have as Nairobi County, probably one of the biggest garage facility,” said Governor Sakaja.

In the past, county vehicles were taken to private facilities yet the county had competent and experienced personnel.

“We have brought all the vehicles that had worn out and had been in private garages. Said Governor Sakaja.
