The County Planning and Technical Committee 16th October, 2019 approved more than 500 development plans.
The electronically submitted development applications included building plans, sub divisions, change of use and outdoor advertising.
The Committee constituting of County technical officers in the built environment has the sole mandate of recommending development plans for approval. Other members of the committee representatives were from Architectural Association of Kenya, Kenya Institute of Planners, Institute of Engineers in Kenya and Institute of Surveyors of Kenya.
The County Executive Committee Member Lands, Urban Planning, Urban Renewal, Housing and Project Management Ms. Winfred Kathangu thanked the professional bodies for the collaboration and assured all the stakeholders in the sector that the approval meetings will be held fortnightly going forward.
The County Ag Chief Officer Urban Planning Mr. Halkano Waqo welcomed the new representatives and promised them of a conducive working environment as they fulfill their mandate.
The meeting was chaired by Mr.Abdi Ismail from Architectural Association of Kenya.
