Nairobi, 12th February, 2025
Nairobi County Chief Officers, Jane Wangui (Trade) and Geoffrey Mosiria (Environment) joined forces to conduct a cleaning exercise in Muthurwa Market.
“We want to continue Governor Sakaja Johnsons’ transformative agenda into our respective markers and ensure thorough cleanliness is observed. A clean environment ensures your business thrives. The Business and Hustler Opportunities sector is commitment to creating spaces where vendors can flourish. I want to urge those traders who operate in respective markets to ensure to maintain cleanliness by clearing waste that is generated in their respective stalls. Your waste is your responsibility. ‘Pamoja tungarishe Mazingira yetu’. Said, Jane Wangui, Chief Officer

The joint clean-up efforts signified a renewed partnership between the county and its traders and a step towards a more prosperous Nairobi.
“We want to ensure that we continue creating environmentally friendly markets, as well as traders’ well-being by providing an environmental friendly atmosphere for traders to operate in. Clean markets benefit everyone, from vendors to consumers.” Said Geoffrey Mosiria, County Chief Officer, Environment.
