County Chief Officer for Youth, Talent and Sports Mr. Oscar Igaida flagged off Nairobi County Boys Team who are headed to Nyeri County for the Under 19 Talanta Hela football playoffs to take place from 15th November to 22nd November 2023. The young Boys and Girls have been selected from various schools in Nairobi.
The Nairobi County Girls Team qualified for Nationals after eliminating their Kiambu Counterparts 6 – 1. The Nationals will be held in Nairobi from 3rd December to 12th December 2023.
The Chief Officer said “The Talanta Hela initiative will promote youth’s creativity and talents, build skills and expand livelihoods. This Initiative seeks to Monetize Talent and Revolutionize the Sports and Creative Space into a Mega Industry.
“Sports industry has the potential to create millions of jobs and contribute significantly to our economic development. With the support from all levels of Governance in Nairobi County under the leadership of Governor Sakaja, should be able to make sports profitable. The journey has begun in earnest.” Said Mr. Igaida.
