The Information, Communication and E-Government Sector functions include the following: 


1. Automation of all County services in order to provide enhanced operational efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery;

2. Design and development of an interactive website through which information for public consumption can be uploaded thus provide a communication channel for exchange of views and opinions.

3. Implementation of recommendations contained in the ICT Transformation Roadmap that is anchored to County Integrated Development Plan;

4. Ensuring that the departments under the sector are aligned roles and responsibilities with the priorities and objectives set out in the Nairobi City County’s policies and plans;


The Information, Communication and E-Government Sector functions include the following:


1. Dissemination of public information and Public participation;

2. Development of county communications capacity and infrastructure;

3. County branding




 1.The county formulated and implemented a comprehensive ICT transformation roadmap that is now 97% complete.

2. The ICT roadmap encompassed the construction of a county web portal, development and implementation of paperless communications, digitization of county operations mainly payment platforms, structured cabling of all county installations, a data center and a PABX.

3.The first County to launch ePayment applications in June 2014. System has curbed corruption, reduced cash handling and accountability


4. A car park attendant takes a motorist through the EJijipay digital registration process to facilitate payment for payment

5. Efficient, convenient and improved revenue collection

6. Online payment of land rates, house/stall rent, and construction permits, unified business permits, parking fees

7. KES 17B has been collected since June 2014
